How to download a "blob:" video in Chrome
A blob: address only lives inside the page, so you can't save it directly. Open FileSnatch while the video plays: it finds the stream behind the blob and saves it as a normal MP4.
The problem
Right-click on many videos shows an address like blob:https://… and "Save video as" is missing or saves nothing. That's because the page builds the video on the fly from a stream (usually HLS or DASH); the blob address is only a temporary handle inside that tab.
How FileSnatch helps
- FileSnatch looks past the blob address to the real stream the page is playing.
- It shows the video in the panel with its qualities, like any other video.
- It downloads the stream and joins it into one MP4 that plays everywhere.
Step by step
- Play the video
Open the page and let the video play for a moment.
- Open FileSnatch
The video appears in the Videos tab.
- Download
Choose a quality with the arrow next to Download, then Download.
Good to know
- Several videos on the page? Download all saves them together.
- If nothing appears, play the video a little longer, then reopen the panel.
Free saves up to 720p, 20 a day. Pro adds 1080p and 4K, unlimited.

Why can't I just open the blob link?
It only exists inside that tab; it isn't a file on a server.
Does it work for DRM videos?
No. Encrypted streams (Netflix and similar) can't be saved.
