How to record a live stream (Twitch, Kick and more)
Quick answer
Open the live stream, open FileSnatch, click the stream and choose Record live. It records the stream itself (not your screen) until you press Stop, and saves a normal video.
The problem
Live streams disappear or get cut once they end. Screen recorders capture notifications, lower the quality, and need your computer to stay on that tab the whole time.
How FileSnatch helps
- FileSnatch records the stream's own video, in the stream's quality, not a picture of your screen.
- It keeps recording with the panel closed while you use other tabs.
- Press Stop whenever you like, and the recording is saved as a video you can play anywhere.
- Past broadcasts and clips download like normal videos, with a quality picker.
Step by step
- Open the stream
Open the live channel in Chrome.
- Open FileSnatch
The stream shows in the panel with a LIVE tag.
- Record live
Click the stream, then Record live. Recording starts now.
- Stop
Press Stop in the panel or the Downloads tab. The video is saved.
Good to know
- A long past broadcast? Save what's done keeps what's downloaded if you stop early.
- Want only a highlight later? Trim it in the preview.
Questions
Is there a time limit?
