How to download Twitch clips and past broadcasts
Quick answer
Open the clip or the past broadcast, open FileSnatch, and click Download. For a long broadcast, use Trim to save only the part you need. For a live channel, use Record.
The problem
Twitch only lets streamers download their own broadcasts, and past broadcasts disappear after a while. Clips are short, but there's still no button to save one.
How FileSnatch helps
- Clips are saved from Twitch's own files in every quality.
- Past broadcasts are streamed in pieces; FileSnatch joins them into one MP4.
- Trim downloads only the minutes you choose, so a 6-hour stream doesn't take 6 hours.
- Live channels can be recorded until you press Stop.
Step by step
- Open the clip or video
Open a clip (clips.twitch.tv/…) or a past broadcast (twitch.tv/videos/…).
- Open FileSnatch
Click the FileSnatch icon in the toolbar, or press Alt+Shift+M.
- Pick a quality
Choose a size, or Trim for just a part.
- Download
It's saved as one MP4.
